Purpose and Impact

CHANGING THE WORLD. ONE THREAD AT A TIME.

The current system is broken, as it relies on a take-make-dispose model, and cannot continue. The only way forwards is to focus on designing and manufacturing more responsibly. We have an ambition to ensure everything we do is designed to be Fit for the Future. That means creating system value by partnering with our customers to enable real change.

Our strategy comprises three pillars – sustainable material innovations, an empowering workplace, and concrete actions and investments to strengthen the community and environment.

Alpine Group is the first textile innovation and apparel manufacturing business to undertake the Future-Fit Business Benchmark, a strategic management tool with a science-based destination that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It enables our business to contribute to a society that is environmentally restorative, socially just, and economically inclusive.

EVERY THREAD COUNTS

Every thread of fabric goes a long way in defining the future of fashion. By constantly innovating and experimenting, we’re expanding the catalogue of visionary fabrics that brands and designers can use to embrace sustainability.

In support of the Textile Exchange initiative with the UNFCC’s Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, we are committed to hitting the following material targets by 2025:

100% of cotton to come from sustainable sources
45% volume share of recycled polyester

EVERY PERSON COUNTS

Every team member plays a part in making fashion Fit for the Future. Our ambition is to create a place where every team member can flourish, lead fulfilling lives, and ultimately be happy. We are passionate about supporting the communities that we operate within. Through our facilities worldwide, we are supporting the livelihoods of over 10,000 team members, with far-reaching impact on families and communities in Egypt and Jordan, as well as Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, and the Philippines, among others.

We believe in enriching our team members’ lives through continued education and training opportunities, including skills training for technical operations at new training centers in Egypt and Jordan, as well as a global leadership and supervisor training program to nurture the next generation of managers across the board.

EVERY ACTION COUNTS

While minimising textile waste, we've forged a life-changing partnership that helps women tackle period poverty.

In partnership with an international charity called Transformation Textiles, we’re diverting pre-consumer textile waste from the garment manufacturing process to create Dignity Kits. These kits provide vulnerable women with essential sanitary supplies and personal hygiene products.

We made a commitment as part of the UN's Generation Equality Forum in June 2021 to further our support and drive the initiative forward, redirecting even more pre-consumer textile waste generated from the garment manufacturing to create the Dignity Kits.
